Ragna Berlin

Immaterial

In 2007 I was asked to make a proposal for MetLife's new lobby on 57th Street in Manhattan, NY. My proposal is site-specific, laminating the glass surrounding the escalators in the center of the lobby with two big amorphous shapes each one wrapping around the corners of the enclosure. The size of the shapes is chosen to link the architectural scale with the human. As the two shapes meet they transform and adjust to each other. The installation will add amorphousness and sensuality as well as a warm colored light.
